        Information

Welcome to the Golden Cup at Yoxall. Central to the village of Yoxall is the Golden Cup - a family run pub, which offers a warm welcome to all that visit. High quality homemade food complements an excellent range of beers and lagers whilst the newly refurbished accommodation includes 5 en-suite bedrooms. All bedrooms have been designed to ensure comfort and successfully combine modern facilities with a traditional family feel. Tastefully decorated, using only the very best in linen and furnishings, all bedrooms afford a view of the local church, St. Peter's. This majestic church - complete with striking clock - boasts a 12th century doorway, itself proof of the age and development of the village through the ages.

Greg and Rachael are your local publicans at the Golden Cup. They strive to ensure that all who visit their establishment leave feeling refreshed and replenished. The East Midlands area - where Yoxall is located - is the ideal location for taking a holiday, whether it is just a long weekend, mini-break or even a fortnight, there is plenty to see and do throughout the area and with cost-effective accommodation rates your break is sure to be one to remember.

No story would be complete without a mention of GHOSTS. The Golden Cup is believed to have a ghost but neither Greg nor Rachel will confirm or deny its existence, believing that visitors should make up their own mind, but if such a story is true, then he must be a friendly ghost who likes his sleep as no one has been disturbed yet!

One other story, which is believed to substantiate the shying of horses within a particular area of the village, is that of the blacksmith's apprentice whose skeleton was found run through with a spear. Horses are said to shy at the very spot where the unfortunate youngster had lain in an unconsecrated grave - research has shown that the boy, who had been ill-treated, had committed suicide whilst his employer (the Blacksmith) had been at Church. A sad tale, which does not fit in with the genuine warm and friendly atmosphere of today's Yoxall.
